Student Initiatives

YMCA MYIG students have developed committees around initiatives that they are passionate about. These committees meet monthly or bi-monthly via Zoom. They are student led with guidance from the MYIG staff.

Inclusion Initiative

The Inclusion Initiative focuses on the unification and solidarity of YMCA MYIG students. Guided by YMCA MYIG Staff, they will:

• Meet monthly or bi-monthly on zoom. Also meet at conferences.
• Discuss issues seen at MYIG events and at the delegation level concerning inclusion of students from all walks of life.
• Form sub-committees and goals for the program year.
• Be a resource at conferences to listen if there are issues and help staff brainstorm solutions.
• Be a resource for delegation leaders.

Outreach Initiative

The Outreach Initiative focuses on the recruitment and support of new delegations for both the middle and high school level. Guided by the YMCA MYIG Staff, they will:

• Meet monthly or bi-monthly on Zoom.
• Form sub-committees and goals for the program year.
  
• Develop and update recruitment tools.
• Visit new delegations to tell them about the program or support them in learning program skills.
• Meet with new delegations at conferences to provide support and encouragement.
