Middle School Bills Passed and Signed by the Governors

H0004 – A bill to mandate that the mandatory minimum age of purchasing or using tobacco products in the state of Michigan shall be increased from 18 to 21 years of age.

H0022 – A bill to mandate that all public buildings in the state of Michigan must be handicapped-accessible.

H0035 – A bill to mandate that all public middle and high schools have condoms available to students.

H0043 – A bill to mandate that all convicted sex offenders and child molesters are unable to live with anyone under the age of 18.

H0048 – A bill to mandate that a person cannot smoke in a car with a passenger under the age of eighteen.

H0068 – A bill to mandate that all persons in the state of Michigan engaged in a homosexual partnership be granted equal parental rights over any child conceived during the partnership.

H0080 – A bill to mandate that all high school athletes shall be tested for drugs.

H0095 – A bill to mandate that people on welfare should have to take a drug test in order to receive assistance from the government.

H0102 – A bill to mandate that any animal abuse and/or neglect that has taken place in the state of Michigan is treated with severe consequences.

H0113 – A bill to mandate that at all school sporting events, there must be an automated external defibrillator (AED) accessible for use by trained personnel (coaches, referees and athletic directors).

H0115 -- A bill to mandate that all welfare applicants must have a drug test during the application, and before they receive their first payment.

S0003 – A bill to mandate that all landlords owning an apartment complex in the state of Michigan are required to have fully functional fire safety appliances installed in every residential housing area/apartment within the complex.

S0010 – A bill to mandate that when a person is receiving child support, he/she provides legitimate paperwork showing that the money is going directly to the child’s needs.

S0025 – A bill to mandate that all public schools in Michigan be required to provide a K-12 bullying program.

S0030 – A bill to mandate that taxi and bus drivers cannot have a blood alcohol content of .05 or more.

S0064 – A bill to mandate that all medical employees be required to have a flu shot each year.

S0066 – A bill to mandate that police officers of any seniority must pass a fitness test.

S0070 – A bill to mandate that all middle school and high school student athletes who show symptoms of a concussion must be removed from play until they are cleared by a physician.

S0083 – A bill to mandate the prevention of cyber bullying or pre-teens and teens in high school.

S0111 – A bill to mandate that people who own a composter receive tax credits.

S0120 – A bill to mandate that all abandoned buildings or houses be demolished.

 

Political Compromise Agreed Upon by Middle School Students

The Political Compromise Committee adopts this policy as agreed upon by the following Special Interest Groups:

  • The Drought Stricken States of America
  • The American Water Bottling Companies
  • The United States Water Conservancy

1. 15% of Basin water will go to Drought Stricken States, 10% to go toward agriculture and 5% to go toward household use.

2. American Water Bottling Companies shall get 15% of all available basin water with a $.07 per gallon fee.

  • Manufacturers will be required to pay 30% of their profits for water use and be required to have their factories in the Great Lakes Basin States in order to provide jobs to the workers in these states.
  • Water Bottling companies can not drill in a state that has had a drought within a year, or a 3 month period within a state that is currently in a drought.
  • 5% of the bottled water from the American Bottled Water companies will go to drought stricken areas.

3. Once the water has been taken from the basin it may not be used negatively or else there will be a fine. The drought stricken states will pay the fee.

4. There will also be a $.10 bottle deposit on all bottled water.
