CONTRIBUTIONS

Another function of the Alumni Association is fundraising for the scholarship fund. It is Michigan Youth in Government’s program goal to be able to give each participant a 50% scholarship. The Alumni Association works on fundraisers with the students. In 2006 almost $1500.00 was raised in a spare change competition between the program areas of the March and April Spring Conferences.

It is time to step up our fundraising. We need your participation with the alumni to do this. We ask the alumni to help with fundraisers as well as contacting local businesses and making personal contacts.

With the help of the alumni, the students are able to grow and learn at levels they didn’t think were attainable within their short stay in Lansing. If you have participated in Youth in Government, you know how important it is for the students to be taught by educators with a passion to lead. We need your participation to achieve our goal of the youth today becoming our leaders of tomorrow.
